SUMMER SUN in shining and fall leaves are starting to show. Our fall ‘New Years’ resolutions are a little different than the ones in January. Here are our top 4 favourite healthful things to make healthy living easier as we transition into a busy fall.
CHIA SEEDS: Many of us already know that tiny Seeds are the highest plant source of Omega 3s, rich in calcium and an easily digested protein source. From its gel-like consistency when mixed with a liquid, it slows the digestion of carbs, helps remove toxins and regulate bowel movements. If you’re in a crunch, try these pre-packed sticks or grab the chia seeds in bulk and store in mini jars to take with you.
CHAGA: This immune boosting ingredient is more than just a member of the fungi family. This wild mushroom contains the enzyme SOD (superoxide dismutase), an antioxidant that prevents damage to the cell’s DNA. With its powerful therapeutic agents, Betulin and Betulinic Acid, it can help lower cholesterol and fight off viruses with its many antioxidant properties. This is one ‘super-food’ ingredient you definitely need to try if you haven’t already. This mushroom typically grows on birch trees in colder climates across the Northern Hemisphere. You could try to forage yourself or save some time and head to your local health food store and try some of these: Chaga Tea, Raw Elements, Tao Leaf or Annanda Chaga.
DEEP IMMUNE: We are definitely fans of St.Francis Farms. Besides the fact that they are Canadian, these use the finest quality of herbs, thorough with their research and practice sustainable agriculture. Their Deep Immune tonic is made with an herbal blend of ingredients that will boost the strength of our immune system as well as nourish it.
HONEST LEAF TEA: This is honestly the cleanest tea we’ve come across so far. Shelby Kroach, Holistic Nutritionist, created this Canadian brand of tea and it’s definitely one of our favourites. Each blend of tea will help nourish our bodies and mind as they are made with the finest all natural and organic herbs, spices and tea leaves. So give it a try so you can boost and nourish your way through this busy season ahead. You can buy online but there’s probably already a store near you that carries it.
